It's A Bobcat, Bob

Here's something cool; just got a look at a bobcat, while driving in Ludlow...

He(?) jumped out onto the road right in front of me; I slammed on the brakes and layed on the horn...

And he jumped back into the woods.

These were the only shots I was able to get, with a camera phone through the passenger side window. Traffic was piling up behind me, and the cat slinked away just as I had to get going.

...my hometown is wilder than I give it credit for...

Wow, how neat that you got a picture, too!

Makes you wonder just what is in our neighborhoods, but seldom seen.

Very cool shots....I was happy to see a moose the other day in Otis..but a bobcat in Ludlow sure beats that!

Always wanted to get some kind of night vision scope, and explore the woods at night. I thought bobcats were nocturnal only, but I guess not...

I'd love to see a moose around here; must be an epic sight!

I would have killed to have my other camera with me.

Great pictures. Some people just don't appreciate the beauty of nature. We have always had plenty in Ludlow. I can remember listening to them at nite, particularly in the spring and summer. I had the displeasure of listening to a fisher cat a few months back and that just stood the hair up on the back of my neck.

I was hunting turkeys on Monday morning and i saw what apears to be this exact same bobcat. The animal did not even see me. It was rather amazing. It stopped around 75 feet away from me and stood there for a good 20 seconds before casualy walking away. I was shocked at how it did not see me or pick up my scent.

Was mowing my lawn, halfway done when out of the corner of my eye a huge bobcat crossing my lawn, and headed towards the woods.
