In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Hope everyone had a good Valentine's. Ours was spent hauling in the loot from Kelly's baby shower...

And thankfully, there was much of it. We'll probably be all set on the diaper front for many weeks, if not months. And the attendant baby wipes came in so numerously that the air will be heavy with lavender and chamomile well into the foreseeable future.

Kelly's aunts appeared to be crafts-women of high caliber, offering her some handmade items that could easily sell for top dollar in any store. Witness these home-made bibs and blanketry, just some of their quality wares:

The shower's theme was "In like a lion, out like a lamb" in keeping with the baby's March due date. This insured a healthy supply of lion & lamb themed stuffed animals, cakes and clothing, with the animals seemingly happily living in unnatural cohabitation.

Other items ranged from pull-string mobiles that vibrate or sing or chime out a tune, to rubber duckies that indicate water that's too hot.

Other much needed items include a 'Diaper Genie" type device; basically a fire-and-forget machine that takes care of that sordid, 'diaper situation'...

...Also an awseome, incredibly comfortable rocking -or gliding- chair and accompanying gliding ottoman, which immediately places any unsupsecting seater into a passive coma.

And a recreational vehicle/baby-battle-tank, in order to be ready for anything the world can deal out on the more extended expeditions...

And speaking of expeditions; a baby-back pack was included in the haul. This should assist us (me) in pereptrating the mobile lifestyle we've (I've) come to know and enjoy and will attempt to hold on to, with gritty white-knuckled determination...

Hmmm. Where does the hydration pack go on that thing..?

Thanks to everyone for the generous gifts. It's a whole lotta stuff, and Kelly, Lilian and I will be forever grateful. The gifts will go a long way towards giving us a leg up on the baby-storm that's headed our way...

The winds they are a-changin', Nemo...

Fabulous post, cake and handmade items. Love the last pic of Nemo. When I first saw that Kelly had a baby shower, I felt a touch of regret that I hadn't been invited. Then I remembered that we haven't met (in the so-called real world).

I hope there's some teeny-tiny hiking boots hidden in those pics!! Enjoys these times, they pass so quickly.
