Ride On

Had lunch at my sister's today. She joined us for a bike ride afterwards. Destination? Norwottuck Rail Trail. Of course.

It was nice on the trail today, cool air and sunshine. It was nice to stretch our legs after yesterday's hike. The corn fields had grass growing on them now that the corn has been harvested.

This tunnel under Rte. 9 is pretty neat.

There were three balloons hovering above during most of our ride.

We stopped at Maple Farm Foods, right next door to the Wal-Mart plaza on Rte. 9.

Riding back, the balloons were still overhead. One was almost directly overhead.

After that, we went back via this always beautiful riverside conservation area accessible from West St. to watch the sunset.

Speaking of beautiful places; they've started flights to Amsterdam from Hartford this past summer. I've been thinking about maybe trying it out at some point. Always heard how nice it is over there.

Local Blogger Mary Carey is over there now, and she brought her blog with her. You can check it out here: http://aboutamherst.blogspot.com/
